Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) February 07, 2013
Los Angeles based Hey Girl Hey Entertainment has secured financing through Pastiche Entertainment for Gayle Dickie’s original screenplay “Bet & Flo”, a comedy about two women in their 60’s who attend their 47th high school reunion only to find out they both are still very much in love with the same guy! It’s a popular trend in road trip movies that take the women from Iowa through Las Vegas on their way to Los Angeles. It’s a more poignant “Thelma and Louise” meets “Leaving Normal”. Pre-production is scheduled to start Spring 2013.

“I wrote this script about two women who are lifetime friends with completely different life experiences. When they decide to go on an adventure together, they find out they really don’t know each other at all! The relationships reminded me of my mother and her friends when I was growing up in LA,” commented Dickie. “Their friendship turns a bit snarky yet hilarious when they compete for the affection of their longtime high school heartthrob. What a great time in Hollywood to produce a romantic/adventure comedy that also opens up more exciting roles for women.” As for cast, Dickie stated, “We actually spoke to Kelsey Grammar and are very optimistic to have him come on board subject to his availability.”

A former syndicator, Dickie was the first female Vice President for Blair Entertainment, holding executive positions at Viacom, Mattel Television Syndication, a division of Mattel Toys, Inc., Television Program Enterprises, Fries Entertainment and Orion Television Syndication. She regularly syndicated, packaged and distributed movie and television programs to over 200 television stations domestically, working with top broadcast O&O stations (U.S.) managing $20M in advertising and $25M in revenues with some of the most recognizable programs in television.

“Most of my career has been about securing financing for other producers and projects. Now I am more focused on making great movies in a lower budget range of $2M to $6M. ” Dickie stated in a recent interview “I still value the movie going experience. I like to write and produce movies that allows for the vulnerability that goes with the movie going experience. There’s nothing better than romantic comedies where both men and women can relate and leave an audience with something to talk about, or more important, laugh about.”

Hey Girl Hey Entertainment is currently forming strategic alliances to finance and distribute a slate of films to include some of Hollywood’s brightest talent in music, sports and entertainment. Also set for pre-production in March is the Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriter’s Award winning script, “Cricket” by Tammy Duffy, a California Film Commission lottery winner, while another original screenplay, “The Idea of Him”, another ‘hilarious look at finding the right guy,’ is set to start pre-production January 2014. Industry veteran, Karen Meisels will head up all talent, casting and development for Hey Girl’s Films.
